Norman Village of the 11th Century

A Norman village from the 11th century takes shape through a lively reconstitution that blends craftsmen, peasants, and armed men. Spread over eight weekends, the first of which marks the inauguration of the site, this event follows the early stages of building construction, artisan workshops, peasant space, and a historical re-enactment camp.

Carpenters, blacksmiths, and stone masons showcase their skills, tools, and ancient techniques alongside basket makers, seamstresses, calligraphers, and peasants who bring the village to life. Animals of Norman breeds—donkeys, sheep, goats, and poultry—complete the scene. The whole project traces the gradual birth of Varendel, in the land of Domfront en Poiraie.

Cooperation France / Southern Italy

Partnerships: The Haras du Pin, Association for Draft Horses and Donkeys, Ran Normaund
