Show in one week based on the words of locals about the legacy of William the Conqueror. In Itinere Collective offers several stops in Normandy. How does a stop work? The collective arrives on Monday and meets as many people as possible: associations, farmers, municipal councils, businesses, schools, police, senior clubs, passersby... From Monday to Wednesday, it gathers stories, anecdotes, habits, favorite places, and links to the past. Discussions sometimes last for hours depending on the villagers' wishes. Then, on Thursday and Friday, the collective imagines and rehearses a 1 hour and 15 minute show created from these narratives. On Saturday, this show, necessarily "unique," is presented to the entire town - a family-friendly show - that humorously and poetically navigates the issues, the past, and the desires of this municipality! A stop. Here, In Itinere wishes to question the legacy of William the Conqueror more specifically. How does this story move us? Does the presence of this character change (or not) our relationship to the city, its history, and the region? If this legacy influences us today, is it a joy, an honor, a burden? And Matilda? What role do we assign her today? Do we know her story, or does she remain in the shadow of William? Talking about William the Conqueror to discuss his life today: who would a William the Conqueror be today? Who would Queen Matilda be? How is this story transmitted? The borders have indeed changed in a thousand years. What makes a people today? What constitutes "common culture"? How is history written every day? Can we understand and apprehend great history with small stories?
