Reproduction of the Bayeux Tapestry
from 03 June 2027
to 28 June 2027
The City of Lillebonne offers a special exhibition about the Bayeux Tapestry, designed for all audiences.
From June 3 to 26, 2027, it will be open 7 days a week and invites visitors to dive into a founding episode of European history.
At the heart of the exhibition: a spectacular reproduction of the original work, created at 80% of its scale by the Fleurs de Bois association (Montivilliers).
Composed of 63 panels made of wood painted with acrylic, it accurately and vibrantly reproduces the medieval iconography. Each panel, structured by red banners, highlights the scenes and facilitates reading of the narrative.
Stretching over 57 meters, this immersive fresco allows visitors to follow, step by step, the conquest of England by William the Conqueror.
This reproduction is part of a touring exhibition across Normandy: it will be presented in Brionne in May and will continue to Fécamp in July.
To enhance the visit, guided tours and activities will be offered throughout the exhibition. A specific program is also designed for young audiences, with the reception of school groups.
An accessible, lively, and immersive experience to rediscover an emblematic narrative of Norman history.
