The Normans in Canterbury - 1000 years of shared history
from 03 July 2027
to 04 July 2027
Living historical mediation between Normandy and England
On the occasion of the Millennium, Norman re-enactors cross the English Channel to participate in the Medieval Pageant of Canterbury.
This project is led by the association La Hird de Hrolfr, dedicated to promoting Norman history and culture.
During one weekend, French and English participants offer an immersion into the 11th-century ducal Normandy, through demonstrations of craftsmanship, costume parades, and the re-enactment of camp life.
The event highlights the shared history between Normandy and Kent, providing a lively insight into the exchanges and shared heritage between the two regions.
Open to all audiences, this event invites participants to discover, in a concrete and immersive way, a foundational chapter of Norman and European history.
