Millennium of Grimoult at the time of William
from 17 July 2027
to 18 July 2027
Medieval Festival
The Lire et Loisirs au Plessis Association proposes to follow in the footsteps of William the Conqueror and Baron Grimoult, during an event that tells the story that connects them to the village of Le Plessis Grimoult, and to bring to life a past that is still readable through its remains and monuments.
For two days, the grounds of the feudal mound and its paths will host camps, crafts, costumes, gastronomy, fun workshops, street arts, music, and guided walks, for a lively immersion into the medieval era.
The route also invites participants to discover the riches of the town and its hamlets: the Saint-Étienne church, the priory of Plessis, the fairground, the tithe barn, the lazaretto, the Roman camp, the black mud, as well as Mont Pinçon, the highest point in Calvados, and its stele commemorating the Liberation of 1944.
Local speakers will enhance this historical journey by bringing the realities of the past back to life.
Speakers: David Lecoeur, Yves Boulland, Philippe Bernouis.
