When Fashion is Reused

On Saturday, October 9, 2027, at the Abbey of Graville, an event evening takes place during which the Workshop of Matter presents the result of a year of work conducted with the city's residents and local fashion schools.

- From 4 PM to 7 PM, the exhibition "Through the Craftsmanship" features photographs, videos, fashion drawings, and textile research, showcasing the participatory work and various stages of the creative process.

- From 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM, the fashion show "Tribute to Matilda of Flanders" highlights a collection inspired by Norman textile art around the year 1027 and the figure of Matilda of Flanders, wife of William the Conqueror. The evening continues with a friendly aperitif.

The collection is made from linen scraps from the local textile industry and reused fabrics, aimed at valuing often disregarded raw materials.

- From September to June 2027, participatory workshops for hand embroidery initiation are organized every Tuesday from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Val Soleil. These practice sessions allow participants to create patterns inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry and Norman iconography, with the assistance of qualified instructors. The completed embroideries are incorporated into the collection pieces.

Practical information: Access to the exhibition and the fashion show is paid (price: €5 per person). The participatory embroidery workshops are free and open to everyone.
